Introducing Period Reality’s Cycle Crew

Ever felt like a different version of yourself each week of the month?
You’re not imagining it. Your menstrual cycle has 4 phases, each with its own energy, needs, and strengths.
At Period Reality, we believe that understanding every part of your cycle leads to a stronger, more compassionate relationship with yourself. That’s why we created four characters: Maeve, Folu, Oviya, and Luma.
Meet them, and you might recognise parts of yourself you’ve never had words for.

Meet Maeve

Maeve is pronounced /May-v/

Representing the Menstruation Phase, the name “Maeve” means “she who rules”; a powerful warrior queen.

Her vibe is calm, inward and emotional.

Her superpower is seeing things clearly.

She’s best at deep reflection and emotional intelligence.

She needs a quiet, cozy space and time alone to recharge.

Her favourite music is soft instrumental. Click to catch the vibe

Her affirmation is “I am allowed to slow down.”

Maeve moves gently through the world, wrapped in comfort and calm. Her aviator hat and flying glasses shield her from the outside noise, creating space for her to listen to herself, to her body, to the deeper things waiting to be understood.
In stillness, Maeve’s intuition sharpens, her emotional intelligence deepens, and her thoughts untangle like a knot coming undone. Whether journaling, sipping tea, or curled up with comfort movies, she allows herself the space to process, recharge, and grow.
She always has time for reflection, where emotions come in waves, but clarity follows. Maeve embraces her quiet moments, trusting that the inner storm is part of her strength.

Meet Folu

Folu is pronounced/Foh-loo/

Folu is a short form of Follicular Phase.

Her vibe is fresh, unstoppable, and optimistic.

Her superpower is turning ideas into action.

Folu is best at starting new projects, organising and brainstorming.

She needs encouragement and space to try new things.

Her favourite music is upbeat pop or indie rock. Click to catch the vibe

Her affirmation isI’m not afraid to try, even before I’m 100% sure.”

Folu is that fresh morning energy. She’s the one that makes you think “I can do anything.” She shows up with glowing feathers, a clear mind, and a to-do list already halfway done. Focused yet playful, she’s getting all her ducks in a row and making it look easy.
She’s the spark that gets you moving: signing up for something new, diving into bold ideas, or finally starting that thing you've been putting off.
This is our lovely Folu; energised, organised, and buzzing with potential. She’s here to help you say yes to momentum.

Meet Oviya

Oviya is pronounced /Ow-vee-uh/

Representing the Ovulation Phase, “Oviya” means "artist" or "beautiful drawing."

Her vibe is warm, magnetic and confident.

Her superpower is inspiring trust and collaboration.

She’s best at communication, networking and caring for others.

Oviya enjoys meeting friends and creating connections.

Her favourite music is vibrant jazz and ballads. Click to catch the vibe

Her affirmation is “I have the energy to show up and be myself.”

Oviya walks in and the whole room shifts. She’s radiant, warm, and full of life – the kind of presence that makes you feel heard and seen. Her grey hair, worn with pride, tells a story of experience, not age.
She communicates with ease, listens with care, and always knows the right thing to say. Whether she’s cheering you on or just leads the conversation, her support and care are real.
Creative, articulate, and emotionally grounded, Oviya knows her worth and helps others see theirs too. She’s the spark, the centre, the one who brings people together.

Meet Luma

Luma is pronounced /loo-muh/

Representing the Luteal Phase, “Luma” means “light” or “sunset”.

Her vibe is focused, intuitive and bold.

Her superpower is telling the truth and finishing strong.

She’s best at editing, prioritising and setting boundaries.

Her needs are solitude, depth and honesty.

Her favourite music is emotional rock or ambient beats. Click to catch the vibe

Her affirmation is “Honest feelings make me stronger, not weaker.”

Luma walks in when it is time to wrap things up. She’s the editor, the finisher – the one who knows what’s worth keeping and what needs to go.
She is not here to charm anyone. She is here to focus, filter out the noise, and follow her sharp intuition.
Her energy comes in waves, but her insight is constant. She notices the little things: moods, patterns, unspoken signals. And makes smart, clear choices based on them. She is honest, sometimes blunt, but always out of care.
If you’re looking for sugarcoated advice, look elsewhere. But if you want the truth wrapped in a warm sweater and paired with meaningful conversation, Luma is your girl.

Each of these four characters brings a different energy, voice, and need, just like the phases of your cycle.
Some days, you might feel like energetic Folu. Other days, like reflective Maeve. Or perhaps you're feeling as honest as Luma or as confident as Oviya.

At Period Reality, we say, the only thing that’s true is what is true for you.
